FHI 360, Africaid, and Zimbabwe Health Interventions (ZHI) are working together to carry out the Accelerated and Comprehensive HIV Care for Epidemic Control in Zimbabwe (ACCE) project, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). ACCE aims to (1) prevent new HIV infections, specifically by expanding pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) services; (2) identify more people living with HIV through HIV risk screening, self-testing, index testing, and targeted case finding; (3) ensure the continuity of high-quality HIV care and treatment services through differentiated service delivery models; (4) strengthen the coordination between health facilities and communities to facilitate referrals; and (5) improve the use of strategic information and impact analysis for program decision-making.
FHI 360 serves as a technical partner for ZHI in enhancing quality assurance and quality improvement using a leadership and accountability approach. FHI 360’s technical support includes:
- Working with ZHI to create solutions to identified gaps in services.
- Supporting improvement in accountability systems for connecting with, retaining and reengaging community-based cadres-outreach workers and client referral facilitators.
- Supporting improvement of tuberculosis preventive therapy uptake and client experience and retention.
- Piloting and rolling out of decentralized drug distribution, focusing on home delivery models.
