FHI 360 will host this webinar to convene local and international mental health experts and primary care physicians offering mental health services and conducting stigma-reduction activities in Ukraine. The panelists will discuss the initiatives that have contributed to a decrease in the stigma surrounding mental health in Ukraine.
The webinar will also feature stories from individuals who have pursued mental health care and confronted their own internalized stigma, and specialists working with veterans will share their insights on reducing stigma.
Stigma associated with mental health conditions can act as a barrier to self-awareness and self-compassion. It can make it more difficult to seek care or provide support to others, leading to isolation and greater distress. The war in Ukraine has intensified the collective strain on mental health, creating an opportunity to challenge stigma around speaking about and seeking mental health support.
Join us to hear what has been achieved and discuss how we can make further gains (especially with hard-to-reach populations, such as older adults, veterans, and people living in rural communities) while ensuring sustainable progress.
