The Networks for Peace project works with civil society organizations and networks to promote intercommunal harmony and religious tolerance in Asia. Identity-based violence and hate speech are on the rise in South and Southeast Asia, yet individuals working on these issues often do so in isolation or lack support to magnify their impact. FHI 360’s vision is to foster collective engagement and give partners a regional convening power to learn from one another and work together to address the challenge of religious intolerance.
The project currently works in Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
FHI 360 conducts Networks for Peace under the Strengthening Civil Society Globally (SCS Global) Leader with Associates Award from the U.S. Agency for International Development. Activities include grants for selected peacebuilding activities, practitioner exchanges, exposure trips, peer-to-peer learning opportunities and participative research. The latter will enable grantees to access evidence-based research, tools and resources to engage in systematic project design and improve advocacy efforts.
